Thanks for the links Genu. Have any Unbroken vids? Love that band... Hey did you see Rival Schools is doing a show or two in Europe? It would be awesome to see
them again, but I'm holding out for a Quicksand reunion. I know Alan is in 108 now, but does anyone know what Sergio and Tom are doing these days?
On a side note (since the thread is musical thoughts) I'm really looking forward to the American Steel / Gaslight Anthem split 7" Suburban Home is putting out. I've really been digging Gaslight lately, and I still can't stop listening to American Steel's last CD. I really wish I could have seen the Lawrence Arms / AmSteel / Sundowner / Falcon tour. Also, it would be nice if 108, The Hope Conspiracy, or Paint it Black would play Detroit one of these days. The last time I remember 108 being here was like 1996. I understand this city sucks and has a bad reputation for bands having equipment stolen, but I can't make road trips for shows like I used to. Growing up sucks! |

Yeah thats understandable but I'm still holding out hope for a Quicksand show... I wouldn't mind seeing Orange 9mm if they ever decide to play again
too. Would've liked to see Burn. We never had too many hardcore bands here. The last one I really followed was Earthmover and that was in the mid 90s. If
I lived in NYC I'd be a snob for hardcore too. Nice to see the Sheer Terror vids too. I just got out "Love Songs for the Unloved" the other day
for the first time in years.

i've had a very stressful 16 last hours, my cat, who happens to be named gwomper, got shot randomnly by some piece of white trash and they have to amputate his leg. it bums me out. but watching those vids, especially the cro-mags and af, made me smile. i got both my lips busted at a cro-mags show when i was like 13 or 14 in charlotte. it was a welcome to the scene moment to be sure. and i like the af song, never heard it. i think i'll go download the album right now. |

the af song is on the new record warriors...sorry about poor gwomper, dude hopefully will put the barrel in his mouth next time and squeeze. Chaka dj's n
%#$@ and im pretty sure theyre will be no burn or orange 9mm reunions either..shame. earthmover they are michigan right? I remember them 90's metalcore
band real heavy. trying to think of current bands from detroit and cant negative approach is gonna play sporadic shows I think..easy action is good...uhhh
alot of the bands from there like h8 inc etc etc I dont really dig...I did like cold as life though..that was a tough *%!!*%# band. I looked on yutube for
good judge videos and they dont exist

Yeah I missed the Negative Approach show over the summer, hopefully I'll catch one soon. Easy Action plays a few bars around here from time to time. Good
live show. I think Cold as Life was the first hardcore band I ever saw. Brings back memories. I have no idea what bands are around these days as I rarely go to
shows anymore. Earthmover shows were really fun though. So Chaka's a DJ these days?

My friends and I got together and drank beer and watched basketball instead of going to the SB this year.
I think it was a good choice. Not sure if I mentioned this or not but I just went to a few shows in Jersey that got me pretty pumped on show-going in general. Saw the last MLIW jersey show which was at a sweet sweet hall. A good old fashioned VFW. Felt great. I felt like I was 15 again. $*$%$## girls everywhere(Not that I'm gonna show up on To Catch a Predator or anything, just was nice to see.), great atmosphere, clean bathrooms!, large parking lot for chilling, re-entry, good people running the place. Man, that was awesome. Also caught the last two Folly shows. They're my Sussex County bredren(Jah) so of course I had to be there. Good times. Speaking of VFWs... I was at the 4th street station in Brooklyn the other day and my girl and I actually noticed that there's a VFW UNDER the station. What the !%#$? They said they booked parties though and I got their number. I'm pretty pumped on attempting to book a show under a train station. Easiest transportation ever. You barely have to leave the station! |
