Agreed. My first punk show was Rancid, The Goops, and The Suicide Machines at St. Andrews Hall, Detroit, in 94. I was 15. It was on the Let's Go tour. Damn
I feel old. That was a hell of a show though.

I got into Rancid right around Wolves(how typical, right?) but didn't get to see them til a couple years later in 98.
I lived in the middle of nowhere so if an older friend didn't feel like going to the show, you didn't go to the show. No such thing as the bus from Sussex County, NJ. For real though, give the last records another chance. Life Won't Wait has some of my favorite songs, ever, on it. |

I will take your advice. I'm not sure if it's really that I thought any of the stuff after Let's Go was horrible, or just that I lost interest in
that style. Who knows. I have been listening to the first 2 albums again lately though so maybe I'll dig the later stuff.
It's nice to see so much activity on the board the last couple days. |

i happen to like out come the... but everything after that is dog +#@#.

Agreed, the first two albums are killer and the shows they played back then were killer too. Mike you feel old? Check out my post under the Killing Time topic.

i saw that band many times in an 18 month span... 1st time in a little ass club in ventura.. the best time was prolly the last time it was when Salvation was getting air time on MTV and they played a show at the Palace in Hollywood.. the Swingin Utters opened and Social Distortion was the secrect guest.. great night. |

whatever happened to those guys? are they still together? i know tim and lars were doing a bunch of side bands. whatever the record after out come the
wolves was really the end for me. i understand as a musician and an artist you want to grow and evolve but they seriously went off the deep end. tim
armstrong did at least. what was that chinese poetry song? geez. let's go did kick ass either way. drunken singalongs down in nc, those were the good
ol days.

Ya'll are seriously dumb for not liking Life Won't Wait.
haha, I don't know how to say that politely. If you don't like New Dress, Warsaw, Hooligans, Coppers, etc... you're just not as intelligent as people who do. hah. I just grabbed that new B-Sides and C-Sides record off the 'net. Got some sweet unreleased stuff as well as some of their lesser known(and best) songs from soundtracks and comps. Tattoo and Ben Zanotto are ridiculous. |

ooo does it have an awsome ska song they did on a comp i think the song was called Brixton not to be confused with the Clash's "Guns of Brixton"
does it have "Just a Feeling" that was on the 1st fat comp and on the Radio Radio 7"
and where does one aquire a decent selection of punk rock with out having to pay? you know, like a bit torrent site... someone knows.. |
|||

Yes, it has all the songs you mentioned, as well as all the other 7" b-sides and a few songs I'd never heard before.
As far as torrents, both stmusic.org and waffles.fm are good. I'm on both but don't have any invites yet. When that happens I'll hook ya'll up. |
|||
joemamma |

whats this invite crap... metal torrents arent like that... do have to wear tighetr pants and geta stylist haircut? |
|||
ian from jersey |
|||

No, it just ensures that people share and aren't idiots.
You have to keep a certain upload/download ratio in order to download. Also, there are uploading standards to ensure that all the records on the site are of a certain minimum quality. I was against the idea of invites at first too, but then you realize it's just so much better that way. Sort of like 21+ shows. haha. |

joemamma |

ah its communism.... now that i look at it that way that seems nice..
i need to meet more people. |

I need to go to more 21+ shows.
Can we get a 35+ show? |
|||
joemamma |
|||

21+ shows are the best.. going to all age shows seems to be a fashion statement nowadays. my wife went and saw Coheed & Cambria a couple of years ago when
the were touring with Avenged Sevenfold. she at 36 felt very outta place and old... but hey she has a thing for Claudio..
and speaking of Avenged Sevenfold how do their guitarists not know that their solos are F U C K I N G terrible. i dont even play guitar and could do a better a job.. |

whoever posted about about life won't wait is absolutely right. that record is pretty amazing. i never liked ska in my punk rock for whatever reason but that record pulled everything off. the question is who are the imposters who recorded shitty record after shitty record ever since while calling themeselves rancid. |
|||
caeaves |
|||
|
i remember seeing rancid with avail at the floodzone in 94 for my first show....satiate, dixie, and lets go pretty much changed the direction of my life.
