one wrench is a ripping record and high lonesome is a standout track. i was momentarily stunned to find that anyone would disagree. i've been a big fan since dixie and i love all of avails records. i have a tough time deciding on a favorite. probably between 4 a.m. friday and over the james. definitely impossible to pick a favorite song. i was fortunate in that the first time i heard avail was also the first time i saw them. my band was on the bill at the fireside in chicago. great show...

The only tracks I skip occasionally are High Lonesome and Leather, I could do without those 2. Everything else is great. Track for track I probably like more off of that album than Front Porch Stories, but FPS has some really great tracks on it.

everyone likes Taken. as for me Invisible-Union-Heron part makes that record for me.. those three jams always rock.
i bought that album in Hawaii when i was in the Navy and i friend and i went to some bar in Waikiki and i sat and listened to that record on my little cd player and got drunk.

The first two albums I got were One Wrench and front porch stories. I stumbled upon them used somewhere and picked them up having heard nothing else from AVAIL. I liked One Wrench better than Front Porch Stories initially, I'm not sure where I stand on that now, but One Wrench is completely awesome and when I started looking into other Avail albums I couldn't believe that people called One Wrench their worst album. I still can't believe that it gets any crap, that's a damn...

yeah man.... this came out like 2 or 3 weeks after I moved from Virginia to NH leaving all my good buddies behind and having absolutely no friends up north. So this record became a good friend. I actually remember driving back to VA to stay with Scotty B and partying and listening to this album all weekend.

oh man, one wrench is definitely one of my favorites. my all time favorite avail song is on one wrench, New Song.

this was also the first avail album i ever bought. i had listened to the others through my ex-boyfriend, but when i went to the store to buy one, the only one they had was one wrench because it was the newest one, it's hard to believe that was 8 years ago.

nearly 8 years after its release...

i know that this record hes been thought to be subpar... but it is in fact outstanding.

if you havent listened to it in a while.. i suggest you put it on... have a few beers and read along.

what a record.. the writing the arrangments the heaviness of it.. when i 1st picked this record the 1st thing i noticed was Ed's drumming.. it was different from Erik. to me it lacked the cleanliness. Erik drumming is on point.....
